Alt Academy Opens 2-Year-Old Nursery Provision

The expanded early years provision will provide high-quality early education and help local families. 

Alt Academy has recently expanded its early years provision to offer 10 new nursery places for children aged 2 and over.   The expansion was made possible by a grant from the ‘Working Parents Capital Expansion Project’ at Oldham Council which aims to provide access to high-quality childcare for working parents.   

Jessica Hainsworth, Director of Education at The Harmony Trust said: “The team at Alt are extremely skilled in the delivery of early years excellence and we were delighted to be able to extend our offer at Alt to even more children.  Positive early years experiences are crucial to children fulfilling their full potential as they grow up.  We know the children that are beginning their journey with us at Alt, will continue to thrive.” 

Katie Jordon, Principal at Alt Academy added: “We are delighted to open the doors to our wonderful two-year old provision.  We offer a warm, nurturing approach that enables our youngest children to flourish in a child-initiated, play-based environment.” 

Director of Education, Early Years and Skills for Oldham Council, Matthew Bulmer attended the official opening of the provision in January, alongside families and staff who were all excited to be part of the event. 

Cllr Shaid Mushtaq, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Here in Oldham we are committed to providing our future generations with the best possible start in life, and this expanded early years provision at Alt Academy will deliver high-quality childcare to even more local families.”
